They met. Fell in love. And for some reason, he cheated on her. She, after finding out, left him for a prestigious culinary school in France. It left him and his broken heart no choice but to leave for Berkeley. Every single day he was there, he thought about and regretted what he did to her. And so they both graduated. She came back. He has his own column on the LA Times. She's the head chef at a well-known restaurant in Hercules, California called "Balsam". He's dating. Although he despises his girlfriend. She now has a boyfriend and thinks he's amazing. He can't get over her, and doesn't want to. She's happy she left him. Or that's what she thinks. He has no idea she came back. She knows all about his job at the LA Times, but keeps a low profile so he won't get involved and mess her life up any further. He misses her. She's happy with her life, yet not content. Him missing her drove him to writing his high school memories on his column, mostly about his past relationship with her. She's never read any of his columns before. But either way, whether they knew it or not . . . .
